Solar panel (PV) rebate

Solar panel rebates of up to $1,400 plus the option of an interest-free loan are available for existing homes and homes under construction.

This program offers rebates of up to $1,400 for the installation of solar panel systems, available to homeowners with existing homes, those with homes under construction, and rental properties. These rebates are released monthly. Eligible individuals can also apply for interest-free loans equal to the rebate amount, repayable over four years or in one lump sum. To qualify, applicants must meet Solar Homes Program eligibility criteria and research authorized solar retailers. They should request a quote from an authorized solar provider, with installed products from the approved list. The application process is online through the Solar Victoria Portal, requiring proof of income and a Council Rates Notice. Eligible participants have the rebate claimed by the retailer, which deducts it from the system cost. Typical households can save up to $1,073 annually on electricity bills with solar panels. The program also offers additional benefits, such as hot water rebates and interest-free solar battery loans for eligible customers. Homeowners are encouraged to research suitable solar products using Solar Buyers Guides and engage with retailers to maximize solar savings.

  • Own a property valued at less than $3 million.
  • Not have received a solar battery rebate for the property previously.

Battery suitability should be researched thoroughly, and the rebate is not available for homes under construction. It’s advisable to start research early and contact an authorized retailer when confident about a battery investment.

Maximizing Commercial Solar Rebates

Unlocking Financial Incentives for Commercial Solar Clients

Commercial clients in Australia can benefit from various rebates and financial incentives when adopting solar power systems.

For systems operating at 99 kW and under, the Small-Scale Technology Certificate (STC) rebate provides an upfront financial benefit, calculated based on projected usage over the next decade.

Larger systems can take advantage of the Large-Scale Technology Certificate (LGC) rebate, paid out incrementally. To qualify, businesses must register as an accredited power station with the Australian Clean Energy Regulator and carefully monitor their usage.

Regardless of your eligibility, seizing these rebates can make renewable energy a reality for your commercial enterprise. The experts at Has Energy can provide valuable insights into your rebate potential.
